Support the Tanker Ban!

May 7, 2018

A tremendous milestone in our work to protect wild salmon was reached when Canada's House of Commons passed Bill C-48, the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act on May 8, 2018.

This hard-won legislation bans crude oil tankers from the Alaska Panhandle all the way to Vancouver Island. It is a big step in ensuring our wild salmon and coastal ecosystems aren't devastated by a crude oil spill but it still needs to make its way through the Senate before it becomes law.

We need to keep the pressure on to make sure we never see another Enbridge-like proposal.

You can share your support for the bill be emailing  Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at and Minister of Transport Marc Garneau at

Thank you!
